Mijas Councillors and Age Concern Volunteers.

On Thursday 6th October Age Concern Fuengirola y Mijas reached another milestone with the opening of their third drop-in centre in Mijas Pueblo.

We were delighted that the Mayor of Mijas Juan Carlos Maldonado could officially open the new centre which is located in the OASIS bar at the entrance to Mijas village.

Accompanied by the Councillor for Foreign residents and representatives from the Foreign Residents Department, volunteers from the Charity mingled with residents explaining the aims and objectives of the Charity.

Age Concern Fuengirola y Mijas was established to provide help, advice, support and friendship to all over 50´s English speaking residents, regardless of nationality, who live or are long stay tourists in our geographical area.

Maggie and Jeff (together with a committee member) will be on hand each week to answer questions from residents.

Our social meetings are fun events and will include card bingo, raffles with prizes and entertaining guest speakers.

All are welcome so why not come down to the OASIS on Thursday to meet old friends and make new ones?

Our thanks go to Dominic, Lesley and Tony of the OASIS who have generously given their time and their bar over to the Charity for our social meetings which will be held EVERY Thursday from 11.00 to 13.00
