Note: This service depends on availability of volunteers. When volunteers are unavailable to answer the phone please leave a message and we will get back to you.

This is Age Concern’s welfare section and often the first point of contact between the client and the charity. Clients are assessed and a volunteer is allocated to the client if needed.

So, what is LIFELINE and what does it do?

First, it is not an emergency service! If you have an emergency you should contact a local emergency services telephone number on 112. Lifeline is here to provide information, advice & support in English.

We do help with such things as:

  • Accompanied hospital / doctor visits.
  • Help / information with application forms, residencia, social services and other legal paperwork.
  • Wherever possible or ‘signposting’ people to the right organisation so they can get the appropriate help for their needs.
  • Visiting and telephone support for the elderly.

We have managed to build up a data base of carers and people willing to help out for a modest charge.
