Latest News from Age Concern Costa de la Luz Sur

Hi Folks,

Well it´s been a very quiet month since I last wrote; we have had a committee meeting and tidied a few loose ends. One item for consideration was the name “Age Concern”; people don´t consider using our services initially as they feel they are not in need of them; when their situation becomes serious and they do eventually ask for help, it is often too late for us to be able to do anything because they are in need of more professional services.

Helping all over 50s in the Chiclana area to live their lives to the full, and get any help they may need.

So we would re-iterate; Age Concern is for all over 50´s to help them live their life in the Chiclana area (if you are younger and in hospital, or have friends / family who are hospitalised, and are in need of help, please contact us anyway, we’ll do what we can to get you together with the right people).

Our help ranges from a friendly chat for the lonely, to helping people by providing a list of personal carers, some of whom may be nurses, if people are willing and able to pay for them. We are not miracle workers but do have the backup of ACASA, the Age Concern España casework service. Click here to find out more about their services.

For people over 50 who require help or advice, Age Concern Costa de la Luz Sur operates a “Lifeline” telephone service from 9am until 5 pm, Monday through Friday (it is not an emergency service – please dial 112 for emergencies). The telephone number is 634 31 52 89.
