Latest News from Age Concern Costa de la Luz

Hi Folks,

It’s been pretty quiet over the summer with most of our business being providing information and some medical equipment to those in need….our wheelchairs don´t know whether they are coming or going! As I write, we actually have only one in stock, and not due out, as well as a pair of crutches.

What dangerous lives we lead!

Volunteer Icon

We are continuing to train our merry band of volunteers and they are doing a sterling job; but we can always use more volunteers. We also have a couple seats on the committee for someone who wants to help manage our business. Please ring our life line number 634 31 52 89 if you are interested in becoming a committee member or volunteer. You can work as many or few hours as you wish; we are always stretched at weekends as many people lead busy social lives.

death

Having published “What to do when someone dies”, we are in the process of updating it, together with a follow on article of what to do before you die. Have you ever thought of “tidying up” your finances or writing your life history for your great grandchildren (and why did you decide to live in Spain)?

We have had a call to our life line 634 31 52 89, asking about “Respite care”; whilst we have quite a lot of information about this, we have been promised a short essay on the experiences, so watch this space.
