How collaboration between Age Concern and the Freemasons of Menorca provided a wheelchair for Carla
Last October, 6 year old Carla Andreu Olives was diagnosed with Perthes Disease (a condition affecting the hip joint in children). Carla had to use crutches to move around are really needed a wheelchair. Her mother, Luz Olives, approached Age Concern to see whether we could help. We were able to lend her a wheelchair but it was too large for a child. We sourced a smaller wheelchair and the two Freemason lodges in Menorca jointly raised enough money to purchase it. Carla can now use this wheelchair and when she no longer needs it, it will be returned to Age Concern to be available for other children who might need it.
