ACASA – Age Concern Acción Social y Asistencial – Age Concern’s National Casework Service

ACASA is a member of the Federation of Age Concern España’s network of Age Concern Organisations.  We are an umbrella charity which works closely with all local Age Concern Organisations and many other agencies, voluntary as well as statutory.

We provide a specialist casework service to assist older people and, through our Partnership with SSAFA Forces Help, to those who serve, or have served, in the Armed Forces of the United Kingdom – even if it was only for a single day – and their dependants who have a right to ask for assistance from UK military charities.

Specialist Casework Service

We have a network of over 70 volunteer caseworkers around Spain who are trained to complete a detailed assessment of a beneficiary´s needs.  Using the information obtained, our Almonisation Officer can decide what action is then appropriate.  Our Partnerships with  the Foreign & Commonwealth Office, AGE UK, and SSAFA Forces Help, mean that we have access to a wealth of knowledge and expertise, including a direct link with the Department of Works and Pensions – all of which means we can provide one point of contact for older people to access a wide range of services.

Repatriation

Over many years our caseworkers have gained the expertise to help to guide those people who have made the often difficult decision of returning to the UK. We can provide information, advice and, dependant on the beneficiary´s circumstances, practical assistance in the repatriation process.

Funding

Our work is supported solely by donations.  We have been fortunate to receive funds from various charities which enable us to assist their beneficiaries living in Spain, but we are always in need of funds in order to carry on our work so if you can assist us with a donation or can fundraise for us, please contact our Country Manager on 917 146 439 or info@ageconcern-espana.org
